I Corinthians 12:18 -
Now, of course, my brain is still digesting this, and it has lead to the case against vaccinations.
You see, for years, the medical profession said they had all kinds of proof as to why little baby boys needed to be circumcised. ( Must be little baby girls didn't have the same issues) Today, there is no proof to those findings. (check out that power point for those reasons) Yet, the "proof" and reasoning for not getting our children vaccinated might sound as ridiculous 40-50 years from now as the reasons back in the early 1900 for circumcision are today.
Maybe it is because I work in public health and see the statistics of what is happening to children who are not vaccinated and maybe I am just a bit skeptical about the research that has been done on the dangers of vaccines. I suppose that only time will tell.
So you might ask, what did I do about vaccinating my children and what do I tell my daughter about vaccinating her children. Long explanation so here's the short story. Vaccines in the 70's - DPT, Polio, MMR. 1st son had MMR, diagnosed with Aspergers Autism, but he had signs of that even before he received that dose. All four of my children had the vaccines they were supposed to but as you can see there weren't many. Now, we are in the 21st century - I can only suggest to my daughter that I would forego the birth hepatitis most likely waiting until they are older to get the series. As for all the other vaccines, we have decided that the remainder of Tyler's will be one shot at a time. The hardest part of this is being consistent in getting to the clinic for the vaccine.
But in the end, what it comes down to is - be informed, know your options and then make the WISE decision for your child.
